OMG shares another sad story from the Dog House.

This weeks episode:
Big (Screen) Dreams

It’s that time again, time for those of us lucky enough to get credit on our taxes to decide what to do with the new found loot. This year I found myself sitting pretty (no wise cracks please). Thanks to a few decent write-offs, I was getting a nice sized refund cheque. But this happiness quickly faded as I was pressured by the little lady to pay off old debts.

Those of you “lucky” enough to spend a few years in University (6 or 7 in my case) probably now realize how those evil students loans can come back to bite your ass. At one time they bought beer, food, stereos and maybe even the odd book; but now they’re stopping me from enjoying what’s rightfully mine – a new big screen TV.

My new baby will be a 61-inch, high definition Sony Projection TV. She looks so sweet in the electronics store, and I do nothing but dream about the times we’d have together. But my other baby, my wife, is having nothing to do with it. “Pay off your student loan!”

Now get this guys, my refund cheque was, to the dollar, the same amount as the TV (shitty part, the refund cheque is also the same amount as my student loan). I get absolutely no satisfaction paying off that loan. Way I see it; the government takes enough of my money now, why should I give them more?

This story does have a happy ending though; I didn’t end up in the doghouse… I hope those sons o’ bitches in the government do something good with my money.
